“Social media marketing” is simply becoming another part of marketing. It is ubiquitous and should be weaved throughout your marketing efforts in small and large ways.
Market “with” rather than “to” – social media is about the shift to having a conversation with your audience, not speaking to them.
Erase the word “campaign” from your marketing vocabulary. Replace it with the word “test” and focus on testing to achieve success. You will have some failures. Learn from them.
Think transparently. Your entire organization’s culture is on display. Use it to your advantage.
Focus on turning content into conversation.
Keep track of praise and positive experiences as proof that social media is a part of your organization’s marketing future.
